Our dream was to create an affordable skin care business that was minimalist, nature focused and ethically minded, but still delivered real results!

So we set out with the aim of sourcing locally produced, quality Australian ingredients and started developing a range of naturally focused, eco-friendly skin care products.

Every step of the way, we've leaned on our love of nature and our surrounding environment for inspiration, all the while ensuring each product formulation was approached from a minimalist perspective.

By staying true to this approach, we ensure streamlined routines, transparent ingredient lists and locally sourced, natural ingredients.

 

HANDMADE TO THE HIGHEST STANDARDS

Our products are consciously formulated to be free of known toxins, petrochemical based ingredients and we 'stubbornly' strive to keep our products simple, sourced from nature and as eco-friendly as possible.

We meticulously source native, natural and sustainably harvested botanicals, each known for its therapeutic properties. We always opt for Organic and Wild-harvested botanicals and only use extra virgin and cold-pressed oils to maintain the highest concentration of naturally occurring beneficial compounds.

Where we do need to use extracts and essential oils, we use completely pure forms which contain no additives, hidden preservatives or fillers.

NO CONTRACT MANUFACTURING!

All of our skin care products are 100% handcrafted by us, in small batch apothecary tradition in Melbourne, Australia. We honour the apothecarian spirit by blending ancient herbal wisdom with modern innovation to create natural skin care products that deliver real results.

We embody the 'shop small, shop consciously' philosophy and pursue environmental consciousness and sustainability throughout our entire business and production processes. We know exactly what goes into our products and what comes into contact with our equipment.

At Elementary, we consciously choose eco-friendly, sustainably sourced base ingredients that have not been tested on animals at any stage of their development.

We only use fully recyclable packaging, including recycled PET (rPET) plastics, glass & aluminium and we're continually working to reduce our eco-footprint.

We do not conduct or commission animal testing—our products are tested only on people, which begins with us!

JENNIFER BACHE | Elementary founder

'My journey into natural skin care started many, many years ago, after a discussion with a pediatrician. From birth we battled my young son's chronic eczema and after many years of complicated prescriptive medicines, I discovered that a simple blend of natural ingredients was by far the best remedy...and 'Charlie's' Manuka Honey Balm was born.

My life long passion for nature, plants and learning about the simplicity of natural skin care soon had me creating a range of skin care products for my family and deep diving into the expansive worlds of herbalism, apothecary and alchemy. It's a wild ride and I don't think I'll ever have accumulated enough learning to satisfy my appetite...so the journey and the 'experiments' continue every day!

Over the years I've completed many workshops and courses in organic skin care formulation, herbalism and holistic living. My truest happy place is in the lab making, gardening,  experimenting and sharing the knowledge I've accumulated with others.
